Standard First Aid Recertification

Cost: $85.00 + HST ( without text ) if text is required there will be an additional cost of $ 27.00 + HST
Duration: 6-8 hours
Pre-requisite: previous CRC certification at a Standard FA level within 3 years of the certification date.
This course is not focused on re-teaching the Standard First aid course but is an evaluation of the students current knowledge. Participants are expected to come to the course prepared to write the written exam and demonstrate their skill and knowledge. Any additions or changes to the Standard F. A. course will be taught.

The Blended Learning delivery method provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to help sustain life and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until advance medical help arrives. This program offers a choice of STANDARD FIRST AID, EMERGENCY FIRST AID and CPR/AED courses.


The content and activities will help participants identify and respond to potentially hazardous conditions, recognize emergencies and make appropriate decisions for first aid care. The blended learning courses are designed to be flexible to meet the various needs of course participants.


Each blended learning courses is divided into two components. Participants must first complete the self-paced online component, which includes the written knowledge evaluations, and then successfully complete and instructor-led classroom component (skills practice and evaluation session) in order to achieve certification. Participants' should complete the classroom component with four(4) weeks of completing the online component. If a participant does not attend a classroom sessions with this time frame, they are required to purchase a second PIN (Product Identification Number) and retake the online component before being admitted into the classroom.


The knowledge and skills objectives for blended courses remain the same as courses delivered the through traditional methods.

 

Courses delivered through the Blended Learning method meet W.S.I.B. standards with a 3 year certification period.

Basic one-day course offering an overview of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets OHS regulations for Basic First Aid. Exceeds competitors standards by including injury prevention content, CPR and AED.

Courses on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) provide the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adults, children, and babies depending on the level of CPR chosen. All include training in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Courses offer training suitable for workplace or general interest. Includes the latest CPR guidelines.
