The Canadian Red Cross Stay Home Alone course is designed to help children gain the skills and confidence needed to stay home safely while their parents or guardians are away. This interactive program is tailored for children aged 9 to 13 years and focuses on important safety topics, providing practical strategies to handle various situations they may encounter at home.

Participants will learn:

  • Fundamentals of child care, including feeding, diapering, and maintaining safe sleep practices.
  • How to plan and lead age-appropriate activities to keep children engaged.
  • Effective ways to handle difficult behaviors with patience and positivity.
  • Essential safety measures, including home safety, emergency preparedness, and dealing with common accidents.
  • Basic first aid and CPR tailored to child and infant care.

The course combines hands-on practice, group discussions, and real-life scenarios to ensure participants are fully equipped to handle babysitting responsibilities. This program is ideal for teens and young adults ready to take on this important role with confidence.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a babysitting certification, making them more marketable and trusted by parents.
