Health Care Consultants Inc. uses and protects any information that you willingly give out while using our website. We want to assure you that K. & L. "Client(s)"  means an individual(s) who has requested or used K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. services, has given his or her information for assessment of needs, or registered for K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. training.

“Consent� means giving permission for the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information for certain purposes. Consent can be either express or implied and can be given orally, electronically or in writing. Implied consent is consent that can be reasonably inferred from an action or inaction.

What information we collect, and how it is used

K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. uses the Personal Information provided by Clients and others to facilitate sales and training activities.

K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. will use this information to validate your certification with the Red Cross by uploading specific information into their database. K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. will also use this information to facilitate purchases by sharing the information with our suppliers. K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. will not share your personal information with any other 3rd party aside from the Red Cross and product suppliers. K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. is the sole owner of the information collected on the K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. website.  We will not sell, trade, or rent information gathered from our website to others. K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. will also keep a record of your information to better serve you in the future.

Communication with Clients via email

From time to time K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. will send you information to the email address we have on file to share promotional and important information regarding your training and certification through K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc.  As a client, you will occasionally receive e-mail communications about new K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. products, special offers we think you'll like and requests for feedback. If a client does not wish further communication via email, he or she will given an opportunity to opt out. Clients can opt out of receiving any type of emails from us at any time by emailing us at kl-health@cogeco.cal or by calling us at (519) 787-2506.

Personally Identifiable Information
This is information that you provide to us that is specific to you. We collect information such as your name, phone number, billing information, shipping information and other personal information. You provide such information when you make a purchase, register for a training course, request a quote,  fill out a survey or form, provide ratings or testimonials and/or feedback. You can always choose not to provide information, but this may limit our ability to provide a particular service, product or feature.

Security

 We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable; physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. takes very seriously its responsibility to protect the personal information in our possession. We are accountable to our Clients to adopt and regularly review our practices to ensure they align with reasonable business practices appropriate to the level of sensitivity to safeguard personal information against loss or theft, unauthorized access, alteration or disclosure.

Sale or Merger
 It is possible that K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. could merge with or be acquired by another business entity. Should such an event occur, you should expect that K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. would share some or all of your information in order to continue to provide such products and services.

During the purchase process, we will share your information with certain intermediaries (e.g. UPS, FedX, Credit Card Processors, Product Manufacturers, Canadian Red Cross, etc.) strictly to process and ship your order.

An individual is free to refuse or withdraw his or her consent to the collection, use or disclosure of his or her Personal Information at any time upon reasonable notice in writing to K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc..  A Client may decline to give K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. his or her Personal Information but, in some circumstances, this decision may hinder K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. ability to provide services to the Client.

Disclosure

 K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. does not disclose the Personal Information of its Clients without the Clients knowledge and consent except when consent is implied. In certain rare circumstances, K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. obliged to disclose Personal Information without express consent. These circumstances include but are not limited to: 

•   where required by law or by order or requirement of a court, administrative agency or other governmental tribunal;
•   where we believe, upon reasonable grounds, that it is necessary to protect the rights, privacy, safety or property of an identifiable person or group;
•   where it is necessary to permit us to pursue available remedies or limit any damages that we may sustain; or
•   where the information being disclosed or used is in the public domain.

Where K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. is obliged or permitted to disclose information without consent, we will not disclose more information than is minimally required in the applicable circumstances.

Legal Requests
K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc.  will cooperate with law enforcement inquiries. K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. reserves the right to disclose any activities or information about you to law enforcement or other government officials as we, in our sole discretion, determine necessary or appropriate, in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringements, or other activity that is illegal or may expose us or you to legal liability.

Retention

K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc.  retains personal information as long as necessary for the fulfillment of the identified purposes for its collection or as otherwise necessary to comply with applicable laws. When personal information is no longer necessary or relevant for the identified purposes, or is required to be retained by applicable laws, K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc.  will take steps to have it deleted, destroyed, erased, aggregated or made anonymous.  K. & L. K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc.  endeavours to ensure that any Personal Information provided to it by Clients is as accurate, current, and complete as necessary in order to meet the reason for which it was obtained.

Access:  An individual may request access to and review of personal information about themselves that is in the possession of K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. . Access will be provided within a reasonable business timeframe unless access is declined for one of the reasons described herein. We reserve the right to decline access to Personal Information where:

1.   The identity of the person requesting access can not be confirmed.
2.   The Personal Information is not readily retrievable and the burden or cost of providing it would be disproportionate to the nature or value of the information;
3.   The requested Personal Information does not exist, is not held, or cannot be found;
4.   Disclosure of the Personal Information would compromise the confidentiality of another individual or threaten the safety of another person.
5.   Non-disclosure of the Personal Information is required or permitted by law.

Requests to Update or Delete Information 

 An individual may request that K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc.  update or delete Personal Information about themselves that is in the possession of K. & L. Health Care Consultants Inc. by contacting us at kl-health@cogeco.ca with the updated information.  We will make reasonable business efforts to comply with a request to delete an individual’s Personal Information as long as technological restraints or legal constraints do not limit our ability to fulfill the deletion request.

Where a request for access, alteration, or deletion of Personal Information is declined, the individual making the request will be provided with the reasons for declining the request.
